Lesson
Summary:
Students will use the word processor to
write sentences. The students will
change the color of the words to identify different parts of speech.
Objectives:

Students will identify parts of speech.

Students will notice the position of
words in a sentence.
·
Students will learn the functions of
words within a sentence.
·
Students will practice their keyboarding
skills.
Materials:
Sentences
Microsoft Word
Color Printer
Procedures:
1.
Have
the students type several sentences using Microsoft Word.
2.
Assign
a particular color to each of the eight parts of speech.
·
Nouns = blue
·
Verbs = red
·
Adverbs = green
·
Adjectives = yellow
·
Pronouns = purple
·
Prepositions = orange
·
Interjections = pink
·
Conjunctions = black
3.
Have the students change the color of the word according to
its function. NOTE:
You may want to start with only nouns and verbs, then progressively add
more parts of speech as your students become more proficient.
