Students access a hyperlinked worksheet online. Students will explore the websites and gather information about Halloween.  Students will learn how to navigate the Internet using the back and forward buttons.  Students will learn how to print document from the Internet.

 

Introduction:

 

When is Halloween?  How do you celebrate Halloween? 

Today we are going to celebrate Halloween by carving a pumpkin, going trick or treating, answering riddles and printing.  Then, the next time you come in you will be familiar with the Internet and we will be ready to go on a scavenger hunt.

 

Objectives:

 

 

Materials:

 

·        Internet access with speakers

·        Worksheet

·        Pencil

·        Scavenger Hunt

 

 

 

Procedure:

 

1.       Students will be placed in cooperative groups by their classroom teacher when they arrive.

 

2.     Access the following web site.

3.  Complete activities on hyperlinked worksheet.

 

4.  Part II -  return on Thursday to participate in a Halloween Scavenger    Hunt.

 

5.  Complete scavenger Hunt worksheet.

 

5.  Share findings.

 

Assessment:

 

Classroom teacher will grade scavenger hunt.  Answer sheet will be provided.

 

Students will discuss their findings back in their classroom with their teacher.
