Dear Parents and Students,
In order to participate in honors or enriched level courses in Grade 8 or Grade 9, students in Grades 7 and 8 must take honors placement tests. The tests, and the dates of testing, are described for you on the reverse side. Please read all the information carefully.
Students who wish to participate in these tests must complete the honors test permission slip, and return it to the Guidance Office by the end of school on Monday, February 26th. The form must be signed by a parent. Students who do not participate in the testing will seriously jeopardize their chance of participating in honors courses next year. Since we cannot guarantee the availability of make-up testing, it is crucial that students attend the testing on the scheduled dates. .
On each testing day, students must report to the Macopin cafeteria by 2:00. After testing, students will remain in the cafeteria and will be transported home on the 3:25 late busses. We anticipate that the testing will end by 3:00 in most cases; therefore parents who wish to do so may pick up their children before late busses by coming directly to the cafeteria. Students will be dismissed to parents as they finish. Any student not picked up by 3:25 must take the late bus home.
We thank you for your cooperation, and we wish everyone well on the testing.
Sincerely,
Mary E. Reinhold

Assistant Principal
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR PARENTS AND STUDENTS
Materials: Students should bring a #2 pencil with an eraser to each test, and a pen for their final draft on any writing test, if they prefer to write in pen. All other materials will be provided. Calculators and text books are not required.
Attendance: Scheduling makeup test sessions for these tests is very difficult. It is extremely important that students attend the testing on the dates shown above. Students may be scheduled for makeup testing during their lunch period.
Snacks: Students may bring a snack to the testing session to have after the test is completed. Access to the snack machines will be limited. No one may leave the testing site for any reason until they finish testing. Students may not use the snack machines until at least 3:00.
Additional information about the tests follows this page. If you have any questions, please call the Guidance Office at 973-697-5691, ext 130. (Please complete reverse side)
