Mission Statement of the Maple Road School Library Media Program

The mission of the Maple Road School library media program is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information.                   (Information Power 6-7)

Philosophy of the Maple Road School Library Media Program

The Maple Road School Library Media Center is a vital and integral hub of the school and as a result, reflects the philosophy and goals of the school and district. In an age of information, acquiring information literacy skills and a commitment for lifelong reading and learning become paramount. In the Maple Road School Library Media Center, students develop critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills as they use a variety of resources to meet the demands of today’s curriculum.

Help children develop a love of reading. Please encourage them to read by reading to them on a regular basis. As they get older, have them read to you. Let them see your reading. Have special times where the family spends time together reading quietly or sharing books each family member has read.

The Maple Road School   Media Center has a new look, thanks to an Eagle Scout project designed and completed by former Maple Road student, Jeremy Curcio.  Keeping with our nature theme, Jeremy, created an "Enchanted Cottage" within the media center. What a wonderful addition to our library renovations!
