SEPTEMBER
2008 Dear Maple Road School Family Members, Welcome back and best wishes for a very Happy New Year! I hope your summer was wonderfully relaxing, refreshing, and fun-filled. We are all looking forward to another outstanding school year and I know the children are also "tanned, rested, and ready," so on with the show! First, some staff changes. We welcome Mrs. Melissa Varian to Kindergarten and welcome back to First Grade, Mrs. Melissa Albro. Also joining us in First Grade is Miss Tina Pereira. There are two new faces in Second Grade—Miss Hollick is "flying up" and Miss Danielle Pearce has moved from Upper Greenwood Lake School to Maple Road. Mrs. Barbara Corsaro will be our Basic Skills instructor and Mrs. Elizabeth Messano will be in Developmental Pre School. In the Main Office, Mrs. Pam Gervasio will be assisting us as a morning Building Aide. You will be able to meet and greet all of our new faculty members at Back to School Night on Thursday, September 18th. You will no doubt be inundated with all kinds of forms and paperwork during these first few days, but I urge you to carefully read and review everything that comes home. I promise there won’t always be such an avalanche of information in subsequent Thursday Folders, but becoming well informed about such things as our Dress Code, Nutrition Policy, and admittance to the building, parking, prohibited items, and the like will ease your and your children’s adjustment to the new school year. Several other important dates in addition to Back to School Night, include our first PTO meeting on Wednesday, September 10th, School Photos on the 24th, and Harvest Festival on the 27th. I hope to see you at all of these events. I certainly want you to feel very welcome here at Maple Road and please know that I am always available to answer any questions or address any concerns you may have. We have a new phone system and all of our extension numbers have changed, but our basic contact number remains 973-697-3606. Any staff member can also be reached via e-mail and our addresses are all comprised of our first name, a dot, our last name and @wmtps.org to keep things simple. For example, my e-mail address is faith.delaney@wmtps.org . Please feel free to use it!And so it is September once again; that incredible month filled with all the hope and potential that infuses a new beginning and a fresh start every year. I love watching the children come in on the first day full of eagerness, excitement, and anticipation. They won’t be disappointed; I promise! I hope you, too, have a wonderful year. Enjoy! Sincerely yours, Faith Delaney, Principal Principal
