SECTION: INSTRUCTIONAL AND SUPPORT PERSONNEL
SAFETY
The West Milford Township Board of Education recognizes that, in
providing the educational program for the children of this district, it is
responsible for the safety of students and district employees while they are on
and in the facilities provided in furtherance of that program.
The Superintendent of Schools shall implement an identification system
(identification badge) for all employees.
To the best of its reasonable ability, the school district shall
provide, publish, and post rules for safety and the prevention of accidents;
instruct students in safety and accident prevention; provide protective devices
where they are required for the safety of students and employees; and provide
suitable and safe equipment where such equipment is necessary for the conduct of
the educational program and the operation of the schools.
The Superintendent shall develop rules governing school safety and the
prevention of accidents and fire which shall satisfy the requirements of law and
the applicable regulations of various departments of State government.
Such rules shall provide regulations and precautions for the safety of:
1.
Students in school.
2.
Employees in performance of their duties.
3.
Users of school vehicles.
4.
Injured students and employees.
5.
Visitors to the school.
