PREGNANT STUDENTS

No pupil, whether married or unmarried, who is otherwise eligible to attend the district's school shall be denied an educational program. Neither shall any pupil solely because of pregnancy, childbirth, pregnancy-related disabilities, or actual or potential parenthood be so denied.

Pregnant pupils shall be permitted to continue in school in all instances when continued attendance has the sanction of the expectant mother's physician. The physician's approval of this continued attendance must be on file at the school.

A pregnant pupil who does not wish to attend regular classes or who is physically unable to do so during her pregnancy may, on her request and written statement of a physician be assigned to an individual (home) instruction program.

A pupil who has received an alternate educational program for reasons associated with her pregnancy shall be readmitted to the regular school program upon her request and the written statement of a physician that she is physically fit to do so.
