PHOTOGRAPHS OF PUPILS
Taking pictures of district pupils and buildings for commercial purposes is prohibited without the approval of the Superintendent.
"Commercial purposes" in this context is defined to mean for sale or for use in connection with the advertisement or promotion of goods and services or through the media.
"School pupils" in this context means boys and girls enrolled in the school during that part of the day they are at school, on school grounds, or engaged in any activity under the direction and supervision of the school.
Pictures of children with educational disabilities shall not be disseminated in any way unless permission is granted by parents/guardians. Photos of children placed in the district by DYFS shall not be published without permission of the division case worker.
Written requests to take pictures are to be submitted to the principal and state the commercial purpose of the pictures, the class or students involved in the pictures, and the audience to view the pictures.
Requests shall be forwarded to the Superintendent or designee for approval or disapproval.
Upon the decision of the Superintendent or designee, the person making the request shall be notified.
Appropriate release forms shall be provided to parents and include a description of the activity.
If a pupil does not have a release form, he/she may not be part of the pictures.
All release forms should be kept on file in the Principals Office until that child moves to another building.
