WELCOME TO PARADISE KNOLL SCHOOL
Welcome, Paradise Knoll Panthers! Paradise Knoll Elementary School is a warm, caring, neighborhood school dedicated to educating the whole child. The committed and dynamic teachers of Paradise Knoll offer students the opportunity to experience a vibrant curriculum in a safe, secure, and nurturing environment. Students experience Reading and Writing Workshop whereby they are encouraged to read and choose books of the appropriate level and from his or her favorite genre. Students in every classroom have the opportunity to choose from virtually hundreds of new titles! Paradise Knoll is additionally challenging students to read more this year through various book challenges and incentive programs.
Paradise Knoll’s teachers are also equally challenging students to succeed in the areas of mathematics, science, social studies, art, music, physical education, and technological/media literacy. Paradise Knoll offers students opportunities to grow socially and emotionally by participating in clubs, activities, band, chorus, Learning Unlimited, Student Council, and TREP$. Students at Paradise Knoll also learn that “Character Matters,” and are afforded opportunities to make good decisions, help out a friend, and be kind, caring, and respectful of themselves and others. These messages and lessons are delivered through the Project Adventure program taught by staff and teachers alike. Paradise Knoll 5th and 6th graders serve as “Character Ambassadors” and aide in teaching our student body about the character trait of the month in each of our monthly Spirit Assemblies. Paradise Knoll has been designated as an “Emerging School” by Character.org and we have won a “Promising Practice” award for our yearly Veteran’s Day Ceremony.
The teachers and students of Paradise Knoll are also fortunate to be supported by a dedicated and generous PTA. The PKPTA supports so many wonderful initiatives at PK including many after-school clubs, family nights, parent breakfasts, supplies for students, and resources for teachers. By working together as a school community we can truly help every student achieve to his or her greatest ability!
Paradise Knoll Mission Statement:
“Our purpose is to collaborate with colleagues, families, and the community, while guiding students to reach their maximum potential to become life-long learners in a safe environment. We exist to provide appropriate levels of support to allow each child to become a successful, responsible, and productive member of society. We happily come together to create a stable, caring, and comfortable environment among students to foster learning.”
As a district and a school, we embrace and use the six “Full Values” to teach character education.
