Three Year Goals and Objectives

        Describe the specific goals and objectives for using technology to improve student academic achievement aligned with NJ Core Curriculum Content Standards - include goals and objectives for integrating technology (including software and other electronically delivered learning materials) into curricula and instruction. Include a time-line for such integration.

 

Goal 1. Students will attain the educational technology and information literacy skills that will assist them in achieving the Core Curriculum Content Standards and to succeed in the workplace of the 21st Century.

Performance Objectives:

  • 1.1 All students will participate in technology infused curriculum and instructional activities.
  •  

  • 1.2 All students will demonstrate proficiency in using educational technology and information literacy skills to      solve problems, make informed decisions, and participate in authentic learning.
  •  

  • 1.3 All Students will practice responsible use of technology systems, information and software.
  •  

  • 1.4 All students will use a variety of media and formats to communicate information and ideas effectively to multiple audiences.
  • Goal 2. Educators will attain the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively use educational technology to assist students to achieve the Core Curriculum Content Standards.

    Performance Objectives:

  • 2.1 All educators, along with the technology facilitators, will design developmentally appropriate learning opportunities that apply technology-enhanced instructional strategies to support the diverse needs of learners.
  • 2.2 All educators will demonstrate continual growth in technology knowledge and skills to stay current with emerging technologies.
  •  

  • 2.3 All educators will have access to e-mail and other interactive tools to communicate with parents, students, and other educators.
  •  

  • 2.4 All educators will have timely access to technology facilitators that offer onsite guidance and modeling to enhance teacher and administrator proficiency in using and managing technology-based resources.
  •  

  • 2.5 All educators will demonstrate their collegiality by sharing the applications of technology-enhanced curriculum activities.
  • Goal 3. Administrators will support a shared vision for comprehensive integration of technology and foster an environment and culture conducive to the realization of that vision.

    Performance Objectives:

  • 3.1 All administrators will advocate policies promoting continuous innovation with technology.
  •  

  • 3.2 All administrators will identify, use, evaluate, and promote appropriate technologies to enhance and support instruction and standards-based curriculum.
  •  

  • 3.3 All administrators will provide for and ensure that faculty and staff participate in on-going, quality professional learning opportunities for improved learning and teaching with technology.
  •  

  • 3.4 The West Milford Board of Education will continue to maintain a District Technology Planning Committee.
  • Goal 4. The district will establish and maintain the technology infrastructure necessary for students and educators to access electronic information and to communicate freely via technology.

    Performance Objectives:

  • 4.1 All students and faculty will have convenient and equitable access to technology resources.
  •  

  • 4.2 Professional technical support will be available to deliver timely and reliable service.
  •  

  • 4.3 Adequate, on-going funding will be provided for the implementation and maintenance of the technology plan.
  •  

  • 4.4 Implementation strategies and activities will include distance-learning infusion where appropriate.
  •
