School objective #1:
By June 2010, as an outcome of targeted instruction, 80 percent of Grade
3 students, following teacher collaboration, planning, and direct instruction,
will show an improvement in the area of writing, specifically free response
writing. Students will be pre-tested
in September 2009, and post-tested in June 2010.
The scoring will be in accordance with the New Jersey Holistic Scoring
Rubric. Students will demonstrate an increase of one point (25 percent) or a
score of four.
This aligns with a district goal focusing on using assessment and data to
guide instruction.

strategies for reading in the Social Studies content area, 80 percent of all
students enrolled in Grade 2 will be able to list a minimum of three community
helpers and their responsibilities based on their independent reading of
supplemental materials (Leveled Readers) as assessed by a locally developed
scoring rubric.
This aligns with a district goal focusing on using assessment and data to
guide instruction.
