The Apshawa School community makes a commitment to be safe, respectful, smart and responsible in making decisions that affect the learning and well being of every person in our school, not just for this year, but for a lifetime. The Apshawa School is home to students in grades Kindergarten through six. An elementary school is a very special place and the setting for a very unique time in a child's life. It is a time to instill in our children a love of learning and a curiosity about the world around them. It is also a time for building a strong educational foundation to ensure future academic, social and civil excellence. The priority of the Apshawa educational community is to discover the individual needs and talents of all our students so they may make the most of these capabilities. This is done in classroom instructional programs, but also in special areas of instruction, including art, instrumental and vocal music, physical education, library/research and technology. Students are provided with an array of means through which to access, learn about and integrate technology into all areas of the curriculum. There is a computer lab in our media center and each classroom has at least one computer. Teachers are continuously engaged in training to enhance their own use of technology. Our parents, PTA and community are active supporters of the work we do together in the best interest of our students. Our partnership is critically important in the successful attainment of our school's mission, and the results of this collaborative and positive relationship is realized in assembly programs, activities and events that contribute to the wonderful memories our students will take with them when they leave Apshawa School. We are proud of the work that we do here at Apshawa School. We invite parents to be our partners in ensuring the success of all of our students. Dr. Jeanne Apryasz, Principal |
