Dr. Dana Swarts serves as the Director of Special Services for the West Milford Township School District, bringing a deep commitment to supporting students, families, and educators in her hometown community. Her journey with West Milford began as a special education teacher at Upper Greenwood Lake School and expanded through leadership roles as principal at Westbrook School and Apshawa School. These experiences have strengthened her dedication to fostering strong relationships, clear communication, and student-centered support to help every child thrive.

Guided by the district’s mission to educate the whole child in a respectful, safe, and caring environment, Dr. Swarts is passionate about ensuring that all students receive the high-quality services they need to reach their full potential. She values collaboration and inclusivity, working closely with families and staff to create nurturing educational experiences.
