Welcome to the West Milford
Township Public Schools' web site. West Milford is one
of the largest townships in New Jersey,
comprising 80 square miles. Because of its commitment to a well-informed,
well educated, and responsible electorate, our school system supports a
comprehensive educational program designed to promote the intellectual
development and achievement of our students. In addition, we continually
adjust our curriculum and programs to meet the needs of the 4,500 students
whom we serve.
West Milford has six elementary
schools (grades K-6), one middle school (grade 7-8), and one high school
(grades 9-12). Further, the West
Milford
Township School District
supports a Center for Adult/Community Education.
The West
Milford Township
School District's 361 certified
staff members (over 50 percent of whom have a master's degree or higher)
strive to assist our students to develop an understanding of themselves,
their society, and their world. In addition to offering numerous
opportunities for intellectual, aesthetic, emotional, social and physical
development, varied technology experiences are also provided to prepare our
students of the 21st Century.
The West
Milford Township
School District reaches out to
parents and community members to encourage involvement with the school
district. In fact, community members provide direct service in our libraries,
special classrooms, and as chaperones and guest speakers. Membership on
planning committees and in parent/teacher organizations also provides a forum
for community participation. This citizen involvement greatly enriches the
school system.
The West Milford Township
School District does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national
origin, sex, disability, age or affectional or sexual orientation in its
programs or activities.
