College Athletics

  • NCAA: National Collegiate Athletic Association
The National Collegiate Athletic Association is a membership-driven organization dedicated to safeguarding the well-being of student-athletes and equipping them with the skills to succeed on the playing field, in the classroom and throughout life.  High school students wishing to play for an NCAA team in college must register with the NCAA and meet eligibility requirements.

For your convenience, links to the NCAA Eligibility Center are included on the left.

    Other College Athletic Associations
The NCAA is not the only organization that provides opportunities for student athletes to compete in college.  Links are provided on the left to the NAIA (National Association for Intercollegiate Athletics) and to the NJCAA (National Junior College Athletics Association).

    National Letter of Intent
About 700 NCAA I and NCAA II academic institutions participate in the National Letter of Intent (NLI) program for the benefit of prospective student-athletes and their athletic programs.  A link to more information about this program is included on this page.
