Highlander Pathways

West Milford Public Schools announce Highlander Pathways

Dear 8th Grade Families,

We are excited to introduce you to an incredible opportunity available to all incoming West Milford High School freshmen: the Highlander Pathways program. This innovative program has been designed to help students explore their interests, gain valuable skills, and prepare for future success in college and career.

Highlander Pathways offers students a carefully structured sequence of courses that provide an introductory level of expertise in a particular field of study. Through these pathways, students have the chance to earn college credit and obtain an industry-recognized credential in the form of a certification for a particular skill. In addition to coursework, students will gain real-world experience through mentoring, internships, site visits, and/or simulated work environments, providing a well-rounded and practical understanding of their chosen field.

This program is an excellent way for students to explore potential career paths, develop specialized skills, and set themselves apart as they prepare for life after high school. We believe Highlander Pathways will empower our students to pursue their passions with confidence and a clear sense of direction.

If you are interested in learning more about what Highlander Pathways can offer your child, we encourage you to reach out to your child’s guidance counselor or principal. They will be happy to provide additional information and answer any questions you may have. You can also reach out directly to me directly at daniel.novak@wmtps.org.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership in your child’s educational journey. We look forward to helping our students discover their strengths and achieve their dreams through the Highlander Pathways program.

Kind Regards,

Daniel R Novak - Assistant Superintendent
